9TH/18TH HOLE DEVELOPMENT
UPDATE
Dear Member,
Hope you are keeping well and enjoying the golfing weather we are having. Just an up-date as to progress on the re- development of our 9th - 18th hole.

1.Handover

The contractor has now completed all work, and the remainder of the project has been handed back to the Course development committee. At this stage it is envisaged that the hole will be open for play at the beginning of 2026 depending on weather. The project was overseen by golf architect Mr Ken Kearney.

2. Help Required

Our new fairway will need to be cut a few times initially with a hand pushed lawnmower(s) for the first 2 or 3 cuts. This is necessary in order to protect and establish the grass bed. We are asking volunteers to assist with their lawnmowers in about 6 weeks-depending on growth. If you are willing please contact Donagh or any member of the course committee, David Hurley, David Kelly, Chris Downey, Liam Hanley or Sean Donegan.

3. No Footprints!

We respectfully ask that all members stay off all ground under construction. The seedbed is particularly delicate, and will continue to be so, and footprints will leave a permanent mark, as well as hold water. The areas re-constructed are clearly marked off.

4. Ground Under Repair

The ares marked off should not interfere in any way with your golf, if however a ball ends up on the fairway seedbed behind the roped off area, please do not attempt to retrieve your ball. This is GUR according to the rules, and there will be a drop zone adjacent to this area.

We are sure you agree that this new hole looks impressive, and we thank you for your understanding, and look forward to its colour changing from brown to green shortly,
Yours Sincerely
The Course Committee
