There were three categories with similar numbers of pairs in each event.
Howard Cooper and Peter Lewin won the men’s section with 45 points on count back from Simon Wilson and James Harrison. Third were Richard Summerfield and John Pendergast with 44 points.
Bertie Whitchurch and his grandfather David Morgan were first in the Adult and Junior section, also with 45 points. Second were Dan Burchell and Eleanor Bourke with 44 points and third were Tommy and Ian Daly with 43 points on countback from Marley and Harvey Austin Vautier.
The mixed pairs and Ladies Pairs made up the third section. This was won by JP and Victoria Coutanche with 50 points. This score also won them the overall Trophy. In second place were Gill and Ian Journeaux with 44 points and third were Sue and Rob Kelly with 43 points.
Closest to the pin on the 8th hole was James Harrison just 43 cms from the hole.
35 players ‘beat the junior’ on the 8th hole. Their names went into a raffle which was won by Victoria Coutanche. However, she generously donated her prize to Chloe Cadoret who, playing as the junior to beat, had recorded a hole in one.
Thanks to James Evans who provided the prizes for these two competitions.
Thanks also to the parents, organised by Melissa Bourke, who baked some excellent cakes which were enjoyed with refreshments by the players on the 8th tee.
The junior coaching programme is generously supported by AP Construction and Pastella Ceramics. At the presentation it was announced that both Companies have confirmed their continued support in 2026 which is great news and will allow the ongoing development of our junior golfers at Royal Jersey.
Above all, thanks to all who played making it a highly successful day for the juniors.
