Ladies Open success
.
The Club hosted another successful Open this week, with 128 ladies from 31 different clubs enjoying their golf on our magnificent course on Tuesday.

Congratulations to Sue Hughes (EDGC) and her team from Teignmouth, Anne Steele Arnett, Sue Irving and Catherine Ledger, on their victory with 86 points.

All our guests were delighted by the condition of the course and the views but especially the welcome that they received from the staff and members alike.

Organiser Alison Price described the recipe that created the perfect day as: “Shopping for bargains + good food and drink + delicious cakes on the 10th + great golf course = HAPPY LADIES!!”

Alongside the golf competition we raised nearly £800 for Hospiscare through a raffle, sale of pre-loved golf clothes (some brand new!) and books.

Toni Hiscocks, the area fundraiser for Hospiscare spent the day with us and said she had a “Fantastic day, meeting fantastic people and supporting a fantastic cause.”

MANY THANKS to everyone who contributed to the success of the day and earned the many compliments that we received:
- the cake makers (so good we were asked for the recipes)
- ball spotters (really appreciated by our visitors)
- cheerful welcome team at registration, in the car park, in the club house, at the half-way house and on the first tee.

Thank you to Dani, Claire and the catering team who worked so hard all day, to Trevor and Ross who charmed the visitors, to Paul and his team who prepared a challenging course, to Colin for the admin and lots of extra support on the day.

You all made East Devon the best course in England, at least for one day!
