Baron Rose Bowl
Ladies Win County Event
On Thursday 12th June, the Ladies travelled to Mullion on a very wet and windy day.
The team of 6 (3 pairs) took part in the County Baron Rose Bowl Competition with 13 teams and 51 pairs.
The morning rounds of Foursomes Strokeplay returned some excellent nett scores with Judy Ryder & Pauline Clifton and Mandy Dennison & Alison Gessey scoring 69 while Anneli Sweet & Charlotte Luke shot 74.
After lunch, they returned to the course, this time with a southerly wind getting stronger throughout the afternoon. Judy & Pauline were consistent with a 71 with Mandy & Alison scoring 73. However, Anneli & Charlotte had the lowest afternoon round with 63, which lifted them to third overall.
That excellent 63 brought the team score into contention and with a team total of 419, this matched the score of St Mellion and once count back had been calculated it was determined that West Cornwall Ladies won the Baron Rose Bowl. A great team performance.
