Haverfordwest Ladies represent C&P in County Match
Alyson & Elspeth represent C&PLCGA
C&P County Captain, Nicky Reeves, selected Alyson James and Elspeth Owen for the county team in a match against Monmouthshire at Newport (Gwent) on Sunday 15th June. The match comprised 3 Foursome matches in the morning a 6 Single matches in the afternoon. Historically Monmouthshire is able to field a team of vey low handicappers and this year was no exception.
Alyson and Els were paired together in the morning Foursomes and secured the only point for C&P.
Trailing 2 to 1 after the morning C&P set out for a mammoth task in the afternoon singles. Els secured her 2nd point of the day and at one time it looked as if Alyson would gain a 3rd point for C&P. However, after a closely fought match she unfortunately lost on the 17th hole. Alyson did however gain her county colours.
We should all be very proud that the only points gained in this match came from Haverfordwest players.
