Latest Information
Dear Member

Welcome to the latest newsletter from the Handicap and Competitions Committee

Firstly, we thank all of you who took the time to complete our short survey. We will collate the answers and let you know how you responded in due course. Further copies will be available for another couple of weeks so if you haven’t already completed the survey, please do so as soon as possible and the post your completed sheet into the scorecard box in the Spike Bar.

Apologies, but due to a computer glitch it is not possible for us to publish the overall results of The Founders Competition. Please see below the results for the top six combined scores:
Paul Spencer 65 + 72 = 137
Stephen Powell 67 + 74 = 141
Michael Dramond 70 + 74 = 144
Gregory Lee 70 + 74 = 144
Sean Warren 74 + 70 = 144
Ronan McGrath 68 + 77 =145

Congratulations to Paul Spencer who won the overall competition by four shots.

The popular 10-hole Wednesday evening competitions will re-commence this Wednesday 18th June, 2025. These are non-qualifying for handicap purposes and are open to all members. Please book via BRS and sign-in and enter your scores via the touchscreen computer in the usual way.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP – THE CHARTER CUP

Will be played over 36 holes on Sunday 29th June, 2025. Entry to the Charter Cup competition is restricted to those members with a handicap index of 7.9. Or lower plus those named below who qualified by shooting a gross 80 or less in The Founders Competition:

If you qualify to enter this competition the first tee is reserved between 0730 & 0830 for the first 18 holes. Booking will open on BRS as usual next Sunday at 2100 or we can reserve your tee from now onwards if you email your tee time request to handicapandcomp@leeparkgolfclub.co.uk Any members who book into these tee times who do not qualify to play in the Charter Cup will have their booking removed.

The charter medal is the net competition which is played over 18 holes and is played on the same day alongside the Charter Cup
.
SLOW PLAY & READY GOLF

This has improved since our last request but there is still room for further improvement. Please keep your game moving and keep delays on the course to a minimum.

CONSIDERATION FOR OTHER MEMBERS

We have noticed that when we run four ball events, some inconsiderate late withdrawals leave teams without playing partners (markers). This is not acceptable. Whilst we fully understand that ‘Life Happens’ please do not leave your playing partners without a marker and at least have the courtesy to let them know you are withdrawing so that they can try to move their booking or find another pair to play with.

As ever, if you have any questions, queries or suggestions, please contact us at handicapandcomp@leeparkgolfclub.co.uk

Best wishes
