Seniors Struggle at Truro
Defeat on the Road
WCGC Seniors travelled to Truro GC on Monday 14th July for the first leg of this fixture. The recent dry spell was on the turn and a heavy shower welcomed the early tees.

Opening pairs struggled to dominate, despite some good scoring, but the middle order steadied the ship with first points on the board. Useful half points came from the pairings of Andy Hurrell/Steve Lagor and David Winks/Mark Adams. This was followed by a convincing 5&4 victory by David Felce/Phil Thomas. Truro then pulled one back before Fred Grist/Mick Matthews returned a well fought 1UP result.

Sadly the team’s efforts were not enough to prevent a Truro 5-3 victory, so the Captain’s birthday treat can await the home leg.

Well done to Jim Sinclair-Smith for taking the visitors nearest the pin on a tricky 16th.

Next up Newquay at home on 17th July.
