Lady Presidents Day
Marie wins the day
Yesterday, our Ladies President Mrs Anne Amos held her second special day of her tenure. 25 ladies played in a stableford in inclement weather which proved very testing. The course was in great shape as always despite the rain. Thank you to the greens staff for preparing it.

Following the game, 36 ladies were all treated to a delightful Afternoon Tea and a drink for which we would like to thank Anne for her wonderful generosity once again.

Before Anne announced the results, she took the time to thank the catering, bar staff and greens staff. She made a particular mention to both Matthew and Jane for their help and support in organising her special day. As we all know Anne is not one for long speeches, but she did say “that seeing the lounge full of lovely ladies chatting and laughing is a lasting memory that will stay with her forever”. Following tradition Anne also announced who would be our Ladies President for 2026-2027. She was delighted to announce that this would be Mrs Vonnie Thornton. We wish Vonnie much luck and know she will do her very best for our section and club.

Some great golf was played, and the results are as follows –

Winner of the Lady Presidents Rose Bowl which was kindly donated by Mrs Peggy Guyton in 1997 was –

Marie Norman with 38 points. Many congratulations to Marie and deservedly so.

There were other winners in 3 divisions who also won prizes, the results will be on clubV1. Another very worthy winner was Linda Atkins who won both the nearest the pins. Well done, Linda.

A truly wonderful day was had by all!
