The final result being Billingham 21 points, Richmond 3 points – a fantastic performance again. Neil and I would like to thank everyone of you, a great performance that now puts us in with a chance of promotion. Once again your team spirit is outstanding, when finishing going back out and helping your fellow team members with encouragement and advice it does not go unnoticed by everyone.
Now for some thank you’s! To our caddies, Colin Spence for keeping Daniel from losing his cool, Steven Lowth for his excellent work on looking after young Will Bellerby and keeping him on the right track and a special thank you to Graeme Nimmo for helping young Taylor Briggs out with plenty of advice and encouragement even when things were not going his way, the seasoned expert kept the encouragement going and again it worked wonders, thanks Graeme. Also thanks to Chris Pearson for words of encouragement to Andy Hood, well done to you all.
Now for some thank you’s to our team players who were not selected but turned up to support their fellow team members, namely, Craig Ewen, Graeme Speight and young Sam Griffiths fresh from his golfing trip to the USA, which he said was brilliant. A big thank you to our supporters, Captain Glen Brocklesby, Vice-Captain Albert Spence BEM, President Stewart Openshaw, Steve Carter, Terry Buckley, Terry Conlon, Dave McNeill, Mike Lee, Jack Hurst and his bag of found golf ball’s walking alongside holes 10 and 12, and not forgetting our regular OAP’s Robert Scotson Smith and his co-pilot Howard Gill who keep us all informed on how the lads are doing around the golf course. Finally to our young lady supporters, Kirsty (all the wild life is still all fine I am ably informed) and to my daughter Laura who was supporting all the lads, with a special big hug to Steve Smart when winning on 18. Lucky Steve got bigger hug than her Dad gets HaHa!
A big thank you to Beth and her magnificent team of staff, Holly, Kirsty, Max, Archie who looked after both sets of players and officials with drink and food. Last but not least, a big thank you to John Dales and his greens staff for the excellent way the course was presented getting great compliments from both sets of players, supporters and officials.
Our next fixture is away to Ineos Golf Club on Wednesday 30 July 2025, is this okay with you Captain Glen you have now got your missed week back ha ha! Neil and I will be looking forward to seeing as many as you as possible making the journey, however, a little note for you supporters, if you intend going please let one of us know as Ineos is inside the factory facilities and they like to know supporters in advance. Please don’t let that put you off watching some great golf.
Well the ladies football will be over, so no excuses for not supporting the team as I say got to better than watching soaps on TV !!!
With Thanks
