Ayrshire Handicap Gents Team Update
Mixed bag of results ends the 2025 season
Irvine’s participation in the Handicap League has now drawn to a close for this year.

Drawn against Prestwick St Nicholas, Kilmarnock (Barassie) and Ayr Belleisle the team were looking to improve on our debut season last year.
It was a mixed bag of results with a record this year of 2 Wins, 2 Draws and 2 Losses, consolation came in the fact that we were the only club in the section who were unbeaten at home.

This left us with 12 points and in joint 2nd place with Kilmarnock (Barassie). With only the winner of the group progressing to the knockout phase, Ayr Belleisle will advance, and we wish them well for the remainder of the competition.

President's Putter
After a great first round victory against the 2023 champions Auchenharvie 88 at Bogside, we were handed another home tie against Skelmorlie. Unfortunately, we lost the game 2-1 and missed out progressing to the quarter finals.

That’s it for our adventure into the Ayrshire Handicap competitions for 2025. I would like to take the opportunity to thank all players who put their name forward and provided their availability for this year's competitions.
I hope all who took part enjoyed the matches.

Having been out following the games around the course in both formats, all but one of the matches were competitive, but all were played in a great spirit.

I would also like to thank our opponents for their hospitality at the away games and our own club for returning the gesture before our matches.

We will do it all again in 2026, but in the meantime enjoy the remaining of the season and thank you again to all involved.
