KGVL Group Finals – Tuesday 16/09/2025 – Shooters
KGVL division 5 winners are crowned champions of Kent
The group finalists this year were Ashford (181 pts), Bexleyheath (169 pts), Boughton (156 pts), Dartford (174 pts), Etchinghill (159 pts), Gillingham (159 pts), Langley Park (173 pts) & Nizels (163 pts).
The team on the day consisted of Colin Shaw & Tony Rubbo (34 pts), David Eldridge & Jim Mitchell (35 pts), Jim Betts & Keith Hopson (35 pts), Keith Elvin & Tony Rawbone (37 pts) and Carlo Barbieri & Aron Charles (40 pts). Other team members who have played during the year but were not available were Dave Bible, Graham Elvin, Kevin Harrison, Melvin Head, Graham Hooper, Jon Kingsford, Keith Offord & Roger Treadway.
The competition was started in 1978 when the Founder’s Cup was presented by W. S. Dearman Esq. to the Kent Golf Veterans League (KGVL). Ashford have now won the trophy in 1980, 1988, 1991, 1994, 2022 & 2025, the only team to beat that feat is Wilderness GC who have been successful 7 times
