Club Vice-Captaincy 26/27
Expression of Interest
The Board is now inviting applications for the position of Club Vice-Captain for the 2026/27 season.
About the Role:
As Club Vice-Captain you will work alongside the 2026/27 Club Captain, Keith Lancaster and then progress to become Club Captain for the 2027/28 season.
As eventual Club Captain you will play a critical role in creating a positive and dynamic environment, in addition to being a role-model by demonstrating the Club values to members and visitors. The Club Captain will also be a key point of contact for members and will work closely with the Board and sub-groups.

Application Deadline:
All applications must be submitted by Thursday 2nd October with interviews to take place week commencing Monday 6th October.
Selection Process:
The Board will review all applications to assess suitability for the position. Consideration will be given to the overall quality of the application, the members’ history within and dedication to the Club.
A panel will be convened to conduct a face-to-face interview, which will assist in the final selection process. Successful candidate(s) will then be proposed to the Board for the position, based on their ability to demonstrate their suitability to meet the required skillset, which can be found below:
• To be a role model to members.
• Can demonstrate leadership capability.
• An ability to motivate others.
• Strong inter-personal and communication skills.
• Good organisational skills within a golf club setting.
• Sound knowledge of the rules and etiquette of the game.
• The ability to act as advocate for the game of golf, encouraging participation, supporting player development, and upholding the traditions and spirit of the game.
Once the Board has approved the candidate(s) they will be personally notified, and the Past captains will be informed. Finally, the proposed candidate(s) will be presented at the 2025 Annual General Meeting for members to vote and appoint one as Vice-Captain.
