Divots
Please look after your course
Dear Members,

Over the last 3 years the club has invested an enormous amount of money into upgrading our course and as a result this season, we’ve had the opportunity to play one of the very best conditioned and presented courses in the County that has received praise from our many visiting Societies, Guests and you the Members.

We have driven a programme to reduce the huge amount of unrepaired Pitch Marks on our greens and this has proven to be successful and thank you for this, please be aware that with the softer ground more pitch marks will be appearing so please continue to repair the ones you see. We have also advised members, guests and societies that divots need to be replaced, however with the recent and much needed rain that finally arrived in September, the course has softened which has raised the possibility of more noticeable divots around the course.

The photo was taken yesterday just over the bank on the 16th and its obviously clear that a player has been practicing yet left these two enormous marks with the divots lying a few yards away, this simply amounts to Vandalism and completely unacceptable! Sadly it’s not an isolated incident as we are seeing more and more such images across the course. Please note that the divots had not been over turned by any birds, as they were 10 yards down the fairway.

All we ask is that each of us our mindful in replacing our divots as well as reminding our playing partners and guests to do the same should they fail to do so and of course if you see any unreplaced divots when you play please repair where possible.

Betchworth is our course and it’s the small things that make the difference.
