Tony Hodges has been a good leader and led by example being unbeaten with the Vice captain over the season in our friendly fixtures and leading by example, encouraging every one who has played. The Rabbits team won ALL their fixtures, home and away, a tremendous effort for all concerned and I hope I can match that performance in my year as Captain. All Rabbits are welcome to play for the team and represent the club and I look forward to encouraging new talent next year.
Highlights included the Triella at Hickleton, where we were 7 points clear of Hickleton in second place and 29 points clear of third placed Silkstone.
We made the Semi finals in many tournaments but only came out winners when David Hardcastle and Buck Rabbit of the year, Curtis Horbury, won at Wakefield.
This would not be possible without a great deal of background work often overlooked in the euphoria of competition, but David Hardcastle is an absolute diamond as Secretary and all the work he does to see the Rabbits flourish. A big thank you from everyone to David and I hope to help you next year.
Our new Treasurer,Terry O' Brien has done a great job and I look forward to working with you next year.
The unsung heroes on Tuesday night, Keith Crundell and Glynn Wight, a big thank you for all your efforts and your patience, much appreciated. I hope you will continue with your help next year. Also thanks to Roy Tingle for his help with the popular competition Play Your Cards Right on Tuesday evenings.
The club continues to move forward and I do hope that the Rabbits have been part of this and led by example with Tuesday nights being a success and financially beneficial to the club.
We are very grateful to the golf club for giving us priority on Tuesday evenings and we all look forward to a successful year in 2026.
