Ryder Cup Saturday
Attached with today's latest news email is the start sheet for the Ryder Cup match on Saturday. Ian Stoneham is Captaining the USA team, so all pairs listed on the left hand side will be representing USA. Kevin Holton is Captaining the European team, so all pairs listed on the right hand side will be representing Europe. It would be great if those representing the USA could wear predominantly red shirts on the day, and predominantly blue for those representing Europe.
You will be playing 4BBB matchplay against your opponents. I will be calculating the shots in advance, so unless I hear otherwise, I will assume men will be playing from white tees and ladies from red tees, please reply to this email to let me know if you wish to play from a different set of tees.
As previously announced, we have a special Ryder Cup menu running on Saturday. This will be available until 8 pm, and the clubhouse will be open until 11 pm for members to enjoy the golf. Please contact the bar staff, or reply to this email, if you wish to book a table for the afternoon/evening. It would be great to see lots of members enjoying the golf at the club on Saturday night!
Seniors Supper Results
The Ron Allcott Salver
On Friday the 19th September the sun came out on 52 jolly players competing in the Ron Allcott Salver in a 4BBB format. Everyone returned safe and some very good scores were posted. The nearest the pins were sensational with balls only inches from the much-wanted Hole in One. Brilliant work.
In First place with 42 points were Club Captain, Ian Stoneham and Past Captain, Alistair Murray beating Trevor Till and Graham Hope on countback. In third place were Barry Forey and Malcolm Worner with 40 points followed by Seniors Captain, Bob Crichton and Dave Malley with 39 points.
The jolly lunch of bangers and mash was thoroughly enjoyed by all helped down with a glass or two. Well done to Simon and Lucy for making the day so enjoyable and to Richard and Lee, for zipping the cards onto the system. More brilliance.
Our next event is the Autumn Cup on Friday 10th October where entries will be made via the BRGC Hub in the usual way. 95% Qualifier.
A super dooper day
Cheers Hicko
