East Devon Golf Club’s Head Greenkeeper Shines at National County Champion of Champions
East Devon Golf Club is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of its Head Greenkeeper, Paul Newcombe, who delivered a remarkable performance at the County Champion of Champions Seniors Championship held at Woodhall Spa, finishing tied for second place among a highly competitive field.
Paul opened with a first-round score of 73, followed by a level-par 72 in the second round, giving him a total gross of 145—a superb result on a national stage.
This success follows Paul’s recent victory at the Devon Golf Seniors' Championship at Teignmouth Golf Club, where he secured the title after a dramatic play-off. His consistent excellence on the course is matched only by his dedication to maintaining the pristine condition of East Devon’s fairways and greens.
“Paul’s achievement is a testament to his talent, discipline, and passion for the game. We are incredibly proud to have him as part of our team—not only for his work on the course but also for his representation of East Devon Golf Club at the highest levels of amateur golf,”
said Colin Thomas, Golf Operations Manager.
Paul’s success brings well-deserved recognition to East Devon Golf Club and highlights the depth of talent within its ranks. The club extends its warmest congratulations and looks forward to supporting Paul in future competitions.
