Captains Charity Day 2025
In Aid of The Clare School
Dear Members,

A sincere and heartful thankyou from myself for your generous contributions throughout the year in aid of ‘The Clare School’.

A fantastic £1536.50 was raised on ‘Club Captain Charity Day’ last Saturday through entry fees, a Raffle and in my year a last (Vicky’s final Hoorah!!) ‘Halfway House’ adding to the generous amount already raised so far.

A genuine massive thankyou to all that have supported me throughout the year…..to my family, friends and our members, I am extremely grateful for your support and contributions to this local and worthwhile charity……words cannot explain how much your generosity will benefit the children at ‘The Clare School’.

For anyone that had the privilege to listen to Rebecca’s (Head Teacher) speech at the conclusion of the day, please take immense pride in your support, contributions, and the benefits you have made to these children this year and for that I am truly thankful.

I am extremely grateful for the respect shown during Rebecca’s speech of what ‘The Clare School’ is all about and i hope that we all have a better understanding of this and the needs of the children attending……I have witnessed Rebecca’s speech before and even now I cannot prepare myself for what she delivers…….i think we can all agree it takes a very special person too work there and through my year as Captain I have had the pleasure and honour of getting to know these very special people.

Finally, congratulations to Mark Blackburn, Andy Kay, Robb Dunn and Dan Bilverstone for winning the Team Event and to Harry Goddard for winning the individual…….a fitting end to an inspiring day given that Harry’s cousin is a pupil at the school.

As my year comes to a close I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every member for giving me the honour of being Club Captain and representing you all.

Thankyou and I wish you all the best for the remainder of the year.

Stu Goddard
