Preferred Lies - from 1st October
From the 1st October as the likelihood of a mudball or a ball catching a wormcast increases we are again introducing the temporary local rule: PREFERRED LIES (E-3 AMENDED) which means we can provide the opportunity for acceptable handicap and qualifying scores.
Subject to the following conditions, when your ball lies in part of the general area CUT TO FAIRWAY HEIGHT OR LESS, it may be lifted cleaned and replaced without penalty:
1. You must mark the spot before lifting the ball.
2. The ball must be replaced within SIX INCHES (15cms) of and not nearer the hole than its original spot.
3. Such spot must be in the general area.
4. The ball may be replaced only ONCE.
