Over the past year or so, we have seen an increase in groups with early tee times choosing to leave the normal course routing and “cut across” to later holes in order to shorten their round.
While we fully understand that some members tee off early and may not have time to complete a full 18 holes before work, we kindly ask that all golfers continue to follow the natural sequence of the course rather than jumping ahead to other holes.
Our greenkeeping team begins essential course preparation from first thing each morning and works through the course in a planned order. This includes important tasks such as spraying greens, which require time to settle and must not be walked on immediately after application. When groups move unexpectedly onto later holes, it disrupts this schedule, can compromise course conditioning, and requires the team to stop/start their work.
As a reminder, greenkeepers have right of way on the course during morning setup, typically until around 10 am, and this time is crucial for them to complete their work efficiently and safely.
If you do need to finish your round early, we respectfully ask that you continue playing the course in order and simply leave the course at an appropriate point when you need to do so, rather than skipping ahead.
Please note that this request applies to morning play only. Members may still cut in on the course later in the day; however, please remember that you should only do this when it will not interfere with other groups or cause delays to a group following the normal course routing.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain the course to the highest possible standard for all members.
