Job Title: Apprentice Greenkeeper
Location: Druids Heath Golf Club
Reports to: Course Manager Tom Boyd
About Us: Druids Heath Golf Club is a well-established and forward-thinking club committed to maintaining the highest standards of course presentation and playability. Our team takes pride in delivering exceptional playing surfaces and a welcoming environment for members and visitors alike.
The Role: We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Greenkeeper to join our dedicated grounds team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in turf management and sports surface maintenance while gaining a recognised qualification.
As an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced greenkeepers to learn all aspects of course maintenance and development.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting in the preparation and maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, and bunkers
Operating and maintaining turf care machinery (under supervision)
Cutting, rolling, and general upkeep of playing surfaces
Assisting with irrigation systems and drainage work
Course setup (tee markers, hole cutting, bunker raking)
Supporting seasonal projects and course improvements
Ensuring safe working practices at all times
What We’re Looking For:
A genuine interest in outdoor work and turf management
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
Reliable, punctual, and able to work early mornings and some weekends
Good teamwork skills
Basic understanding of health & safety (desirable but not essential)
Full driving licence (desirable but not essential)
