After a fine lunch the players assembled on the putting green before heading out onto the old links. The forecast had been overcast but the cloud cleared and the sun came out to showcase the course magnificently, a breeze from the north however made sure we got the full back 9 experience! We were given the option to play of white or yellow tees and the majority of matches chose to play of the white tees which may have been the first poor decision of the day. The golfing highlight of the day was M&H's Alan Wood's birdie 2 at the postage stamp, Royal Troon may remember a few more including an eagle on the par 5 6th hole.
After golf we gathered in the smoke room where Captain Graeme graciously declared an honorable half slightly in the favour of Royal Troon, we however knew that their championship course of the white tees was the true winner. Captain Stuart thanked the members of Royal Troon for their hospitality and looked forward to welcoming them to Killermont next year.
