At long last, we are pleased to announce that work will soon begin on reconstructing the buggy storage facility, which members may remember was demolished early in the new year.
Following the final settlement of our insurance claim, we have now agreed a contract to regrade, level and resurface the entire area shown hatched on the accompanying plan. This will provide a much-improved, level surface and create additional parking capacity.
As part of the project, the existing practice nets will be removed and replaced with purpose-built nets just outside the Pro Shop. The new facility will be contoured into the bank and include bunding to provide greater protection from the wind—a persistent problem at the current location.
The project will be completed in three stages:
1. Regrading, levelling and resurfacing the proposed car park area. Re surfacing will be Ground Trax paving. An environmentally friendly ground-reinforcement system providing a firm, stable and porous surface.
2. Construction of a new buggy storage facility with increased capacity.
3. Installation of the new purpose-built practice nets.
The initial resurfacing work is scheduled to begin on 24 August and is expected to take approximately 10 days, subject to site and weather conditions.
We appreciate that the work may cause some temporary disruption and ask for members’ patience and understanding while it is carried out. Once completed, the project will deliver a substantial improvement to the appearance, capacity and usability of the whole area.
Thank you for your cooperation.
