Dear Members,
The weather is finally making a turn, for how long we do not know, however, for the time being we are forecast for some more bearable temperatures this week, and, dare I say, potentially some rain starting tomorrow. How much of it we will get is certainly not conclusive, at this juncture though, it all helps, fingers crossed.

Last Week’s Question
On the sixth hole, during a stroke play event, a player plays from a greenside bunker and the ball goes over the access road. After finishing the hole, the player returns to the bunker to practice the shot they played.
What is the ruling?
a. No penalty
b. One shot penalty
c. Two shot penalty
Last Week’s Answer
The correct answer is C, 2 shot penalty. Rule 5.5b says ‘After completing a hole, but before making a stroke to begin another hole, a player must not make a practice stroke. Exception, a player may practice putting or chipping on the green of the hole just completed or on the teeing area of the next hole.’
This week’s question;
On the 9th hole, a player’s tee shot comes to rest on the practice green, how must the player proceed?
a. Play the ball as it lies on the practice green
b. Take free relief at the nearest point of relief
c. They can choose to do a or b
Have a good week, happy golfing.
