Winter Golf Course Project Work
News
Dear Members, As the end of September and the end of the season approaches we will on Monday the 5th of October start winter project work. Starting at the 11th green we plan to install pipe and gravel drainage to several greens and starting on the 2nd green the bunkers will also be replaced (with drainage and lining). When the drainage on each green is completed the bunkers on that green will be replaced. Drainage will be done in house as we have invested in the best equipment and training, as pipe and gravel drainage is the industries best preferred standard and the bunkers will be excavated by sub-contractors. The pipe and gravel drainage is the best solution available without complete replacement of the green and this therefore causes significant disruption as it is a permanent high quality solution. The process takes a week to install and a further two weeks to bed-in, but this is weather dependent. Bunkers take longer to get back in to play as re-turfed areas take longer to take, so the new bunkers will remain as GUR when the greens are initially back in play. Obviously there will be significant disruptions to play and the plan is very much dependent on the weather. Therefore we will may have to close holes or use temporary greens when required, but we will attempt to minimise the effects over the weekend. We will therefore post an update of the progress and any restrictions in place on the Club V1 App each morning. Regards Mark Guy Course Director
